No one knows how she survived on the street. She was very week and skinny. One day Nikki was following a young student after school, when the young student got to her apartment building, the security guard chased Nikki away with a broom .The student went home and told her sister about Nikki and how Nikki didn’t seem to walk properly due to starvation.. The student and her sister went looking for Nikki and they found out Nikki was hiding next to a bush about a block away. They felt so sorry for Nikki that they picked her up and took Nikki to a vet. The vet did tests and x-rays and said that the puppy’s injury was probably caused by being thrown from a building or beaten by a hard object as he had seen several other cases like it before. The injury had happened a while before and the broken pelvis had healed itself, Nikki walks ok but runs like a rabbit. Nikki has been staying at the vets for the past six months.. She is healthy now, but the young girls’ parents dislike dogs so they use their pocket money to pay for Nikki’s boarding fee at the vet hospital. Nikki desperately needs a loving home. She is a sweet dog and very loving but has been too lonely, without the love she craves. She has not been walked very often but when she does, she is so happy and full of life. She has been in a cage for too long other than let out to do her business and occasionally out for a walk by some of the volunteers. She is a very loving gentle soul, she needs a loving home.
