Asians for Humans Animals & Nature Adoption Policy

We are always searching for kind-hearted people to adopt the rescued dogs and cats.

We don't have a shelter. Most of our animals are in foster homes. Please call us to make arrangement to meet the dogs.

AHAN is a strictly no-kill organization unless the animal is suffering from incurable illness. We are committed to providing our animals with a safe and warm environment until the right individual can take over that responsibility. We believe finding responsible people to adopt our animals is crucial, otherwise it will only compound the problem. Therefore we conduct a thorough adoption process that involves an application, a face to face meeting and an adoption agreement.

Our adoption process is unique in that:

  • *   We always conduct a home visit before finalizing the adoption.
  • *   We stand by our animals throughout their lives.
  • *   We provide an emergency form to be posted at the new home, so we can be reached to assist with the animals we adopt out

Our organization handles as many as one hundred animals in a year, many of which have been successfully placed in loving homes and they all have been spayed/neutered before going to their new homes.

Please Note: AHAN is an all volunteer organization and therefore it might be impossible to respond to all inquires.

1. If an dog or cat's picture is on our site, the animal is still available for fostering or adoption.

2. All questions from people that have filled out a complete application get priority over those who have not filled out an application and will get a response.

3. You only need to fill out one application. You are not 'locked' into one particular animal per application. We can switch to a different dog per your request. In addition, we might recommend a better suited dog based on your application.

If you are interested in adopting one of our special cats or dogs, visit our adoption page or email us at or call 415 - 221 - 5733.
