Health Testimonial: A Dog Named Scooter ( Oct. 2005 )
October 16, 2005
I have a dog named Scooter and we celebrated her fifteenth birthday in June 2005. She is a part of our family and my parents even call her their granddog. She has always loved to play ball, hike, take walks and follow me around. Even at her age, she was still very active and frequently people thought she was a puppy.
I first noticed that something was wrong when we would begin our walk and she would stop, turn around and start heading home – once at home, she could barely make it up the steps. Her health deteriorated very fast. It wasn’t long until I noticed her stomach had swelled so large that it looked like she was pregnant. She was thirsty all the time and would get easily agitated with people. During the night I would wake up hourly to check on her because her breathing had grown so loud and labored that I wasn’t sure she would make it through the night.
Finally, I took her to a vet and they confirmed what I feared – she had acquired Cushing’s disease (many dogs get it in their old age) and there wasn’t anything they could do for her – aside from try some “experimental” drugs with no promise of positive results. I left the vet’s office devastated.
One day, Vicky heard me complaining about Scooter’s health and she recommended this new pet food recipe she had formulated. She offered to make it and give it to us to try. At first, I was skeptical because of Scooter’s age and condition. It took awhile before I decided to switch the food – after all, even the vet herself gave us a bleak prognosis.
What happened within the first week of eating this new diet is absolutely amazing. Scooter’s wheezing sound from her lungs just disappeared. Her excessive need for water has subsided. She once again has more energy and can’t wait to take walks. Her stomach (although not 100% normal in appearance) has deflated immensely. She will sometimes even wake me up in the middle of the night wanting to move around and play with her toys. She is friendly again and the sparkle has truly returned to her eyes.
If you want to have a healthy pet, please try the recipe so your pet can have a new life again. I truly believe our pets deserve the best.
